Flip Flap Pansy Patch Shutter Card

The Flip Flap Shutter Card is a delight. Paired with Awash in Beauty designer series paper, and Rich Razzelberry cardstock really packs a punch.

Hi fellow stampers! How was your weekend? We’re in the thick of winter and spring is sounding good about now, eh!? To chase those winter blues away I emerse myself into card-making and catching up on my YouTube subscriptions. That’s where I found my inspiration for today’s card. JanB demonstrated this card and I knew I was up for the challenge.

TIP: If you look at my pansies notice how evenly they are cut. Laying side-by-side the look is perfect. My tip for today is to line up your die over the image and place Washi tape on the image–inside the die, and over the edge of the die. Press down around the outside of the die and lightly press on top of the image, then run your image through your Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Gently peal back the Washi tape and whalaa, your image is cut perfectly.

When the shutter card is open you can see more images. Here I used the retired Honey Bee stamps and coordinating dies (now retired).

  1. Very cool fold, Bethie. That’s over my pay grade, lol. That would just overwhelm my brain, I can only handle the simple folds, lol. Beautifully done, you! And great die-cutting tip. I forget to use my tape so much of the time. I have several old-style solid shape dies that completely cover up the stamped part (so you’re cutting blind) and so I would always cut first then stamp those. One day it just hit me like a ton of bricks to trace around the die with a pencil, then stamp in that, then line up the die inside the traced shape. A simple solution that I’ve never read about! Have a good weekend, xoxo

  2. Holy cow! You have created a masterpiece here! What an awesome fold! Love this, and so will the recipient! Thanks for sharing, and making me want to get busy creating! We just got home from Colorado. Maybe I can find some creative time on Friday! Hugs!
