Delightful Wishes Double Z Fold

Delightful Wishes is that suite that cries “buy me” and that’s just what I did. Not only is it a beautiful flower set, the Designer Series paper & vellum in colours of Pool Party and yellows gives me a lift during the dull winter months.

Hello Friends,

I apologize for not posting last week, but to be honest I am not handling my daughter’s illness very well. Not only does she have ovarian cancer, but results of her recent cancer gene came back last week. Sarah has the breast cancer gene and she is considering a double mastectomy down the road. Yesterday she underwent a 7 hour surgery for ovarian cancer and is in for a long recovery. Not only did she have surgery for ovarian cancer, she had a new procedure on top of that which will keep her in hospital for approx 14 days and is in for a longer recovery period. Sarah is the first patient in Ottawa to have this HIPEC procedure. I am going up to Ottawa tomorrow to visit her in-hospital. and this is the card I am giving her. My son-in-law called me after surgery to let me know all went well.

On a positive note, my 8 year old and 4 year old granddaughters are in Sarnia for at least one week, possibly two. Yesterday we had an awesome time together. Easter baskets were filled and crafting was on the agenda. Miss Charlotte, the 8 year old, and I had a blast playing with stencils and the gelli plate. She blew me away with how she took to it. Miss Emma was happy to paint ceramic Easter bunnies.

With respect to my card, I created a double z fold. The Pool Party blue check paired with Daffodil Delight & Lemon Lolly is so, so visually appealing, as I mentioned above.

TIP: Wondering how to glue vellum onto cardstock without lines showing? Lightly add glue onto the vellum, and with your finger or a piece of sponge, swipe the glue around to create a thin layer, then glue the vellum onto the cardstock. Whalaa, easy peasy.

  7. Pool Party cardstock 4″ x 2″
  8. Die cut flowers. Base of flower Lemon Lolly and top layer Daffodil Delight

A. Cut Daffodil Delight pieces of cardstock, and score. Using a bone folder, crease scored lines

B. Adhere Pool Party checked vellum to 3 1/4″ x 4″ Basic White cardstock. Refer to tip above to help prevent seeing glue on the back of the vellum

C. Cut “Wishing” out using the Pool Party cardstock and adhere to the 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ Basic White Cardstock

D. Using Pool Party ink, stamp out sentiments under “Wishing” and on the inside 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ Basic White Cardstock

E. Glue the 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ Basic White cardstock onto the right hand side of the smallest Daffodil Delight scored cardstock

F. Die cut the backs of the flowers using Lemon Lolly. Die cut the front of the flowers using Daffodil Delight. Glue together

G. Using Lost Lagoon, stamp out 6 leaves and die cut them

H. Pop dot the top left corner flower and glue the center back of the flowers. Add glue to the bottom back of the leaves and fit in place as desired. By gluing only the center portion of the flowers, there will be room to tuck the leaves around the flowers

As always, enjoy your paper crafting and please share your projects with me. I enjoy seeing what other creative minds come up with and am frequently inspired by them.

Happy Stampin’, Beth
