Thoughtful Journey

Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper (DSP) is gorgeous. There are so many ways to use it, and today I created 6 cards, using Wild Wheat, Blackberry Bliss and Pretty Peacock. One of the reasons I love Stampin’ Up! is that the ink, cardstock, color blends, ribbon and DSP coordinate beautifully.

Hi Friends!

Did my fellow Canadian’s enjoy the extra long weekend? Much of Ontario, Quebec and the Maritime provinces were all under weather advisories for winter storms. We got hit here so I enjoyed a relaxing Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday my hunny and I went out for lunch at a lovely restaurant to celebrate Valentines day since we worked opposite shifts on Valentine’s Day. Once home, I stayed indoors in my stamp room (finished off the 4th season of Yellowstone) and knitting. It was an exceptionally productive weekend. Love it!

I found myself needing Get Well cards, so I made 6 cards in Pretty Peacock, Wild Wheat and Blackberry Bliss. So often I can’t decide on one colour so I make multiples using a variety of colours. I found this sketch on-line. Do you like to follow sketches?

Sale-a-Bration ends on February 28th which is only two weeks away. If your purchase is $75 before taxes and shipping, you get to pick out a free product from a variety of goodies. If you spend $150 you get to choose a product one level up. Fun!

I used a variety of products which you will find below, but first let me tell you how I made my cards.

Card Instructions

Square Mat – 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ cardstock scored at 4 1/4″ and folded to create a size A2 card

Embossed card front – 4″ x 5 1/4″ Strip of paper 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

DSP – 3″ x 3″ Embellisments

  1. Emboss 4″ x 5 1/4″ card front.
  2. Adhere1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP or cardstock horizontal, 1/2″ from the bottom of the embossed edge.
  3. Cut DSP into three 1″ strips and adhere the strips onto the 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ mat.
  4. Wrap ribbon around the square mat and DSP.
  5. Add dimensionals to the back-side of the square mat and adhere on top of horizontal strip. Placement varies. 1/2″ from left edge and flush to the embossed edge of the card front is a good spot. Play around with placement until you are happy.
  6. Add a sentiment to the right of the square mat.
  7. Add dots along the top edge above the matt.

As always, enjoy your paper crafting and please share your projects with me. I enjoy seeing what other creative minds come up with and am frequently inspired by them.

Happy Stampin’, Beth

  1. Such pretty cards, they have a nice watercolor feel to them, I do use sketches when I am stumped for what to do but not all the time.
I am finishing up season 5 of Yellowstone
