Hope and Courage

This card was created with a very special woman in mind–someone facing a difficult journey with courage and grace. As I designed it, my hope was to send more than just a message, but a feeling–one of strength, encouragement, and quiet hope in her favourite colour–yellow.

Hello friends,

Here we are in the middle of April already and just like we expected here in southern Ontario, the temperatures are cold, warm with a few hot days tucked in between. The saying, “April showers bring May flowers” holds true.

Card Tutorial

  • White card base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • White for front of card: 5″ x 3 3/4″
  • White for main image: 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
  • Black mat: 5 1/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • Black mat: 3 5/8″ x 3 5/8″
  • Daffodil Delight: Banner

Other Supplies: Scissors, Black Memento, Daffodil Delight, Sunflower 3D folder, adhesive

Steps for Making Card

  1. Emboss White for front of card using Sunflower 3D folder. Adhere to large black mat.
  2. Cut, yes cut, the sunflower and words in half with scissors.
  3. Using Daffodil Delight stamp the sunflower out.
  4. Using Black Memento, stamp the words beside the sunflower.
  5. Adhere the stamped image to the smaller mat.
  6. Cut, or make your own banner. I used a 3″ banner and cut it in half and glued the banner to the top and bottom of the matted image.
  7. Adhere the image to the center of the card front.
  8. Adhere the card front to your card base.
