Debossed Sunflowers

I’m crazy for sunflowers. My fondest memory is the time I painted huge sunflowers on my stained brown fence. When I saw Sunflowers 3D I was delighted.

Hello my stamping friends!

Well it’s the end of the week and we’re headed into a long weekend here in Canada. Al and I are going camping but will be coming home on Sunday because he has to work on Monday. The weather forecast is great so there will be lots of pool time. What do you have planned for the long weekend?

Have you caught the news that Stampin’ Up! is having a sale on 2025-2027 in colours? On Wednesday’s post I put up a poster. If you’re not sure what the in colours are that will be on sale check it out here.

Debossed SunflowerTutorial

  1. Using white cardstock cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ emboss the Sunflower 3D folder in your Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.
  2. Working on the wrong side, where the images are recessed in lightly swipe Cloud Cover, or another colour, lightly over the image. Pull the ink pad lightly from the top to the bottom of the card front. Use long strokes and try not to stop in the middle. Before I swiped the ink, I turned the cardstock to a landscape position–the 5 1/4″ faces horizontal so it is the top of image. This makes it much easier to swipe.
  3. Using a sponge dauber on Darling Duckling and Old Olive, colour in the center of your flowers and leaves.
  4. Add “Wishing” and a sentiment of choice from Delightful Wishes.
  5. Mat with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Cloud Cover cardstock.
  6. Add rinestones

Please note that the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder is currently out of stock at the time I am posting this. As well, note that Cloud Cover Classic Ink Pad is on the Last Chance list because there are flawed colours in some of the pads which is why this colour of ink is not available amongst the in colours. I ordered my pad and was very lucky because the colour was not flawed. The reason for the flaw is a colour reaction to the pad itself.

As always, enjoy your paper crafting and please share your projects with me. I enjoy seeing what other creative minds come up with and am frequently inspired by them.

Happy Stampin’
