Masculine Birthday Card

Many of us struggle with masculine cards, but Stampin’ Up! has us covered. The new Woven Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP) does all the work.

Hi Friends,

How the heck are you!? It’s been three weeks since I last posted. There has been so much going on with me. I visited my mom and sisters in Georgia and Mississippi for a week. It was 14 years since we were all together, and 14 years since I traveled down south. It felt like I arrived to my second home. Our time together was so joyful. I’m planning a trip with my honey next year. Al has never been past the city just over the border (I live on the US border), so this will be a fun adventure. Upon arrival back home, here in Ontario, Al and I spent a week at the trailer where I spent a lot of my time cutting kits for a class I held the day after we got back from camping. Juggling my Stampin’ Up! business and life is a struggle at times, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Fault Line Technique

Today’s card has a little spin on the embellishments. At first glance you might have thought I cut the sentiment and the trees out of DSP, but I didn’t. I actually used one of my Gelliplate samples.

  1. Attach main DSP to card front by centering
  2. Place 2 DSP pieces that are 4″ x 2 3/4″, wrong sides together
  3. From 1/2″ from the top left (holding 2 DSP with the 2 3/4 on top and 5 1/4: edge on left), gently tear going towards bottom right corner
  4. Lay flat in the direction that it will be glued in place
  5. Glue bottom DSP to the card front, ensuring it’s 1/4″ to 1/2″ from top and bottom edges
  6. Glue top DSP to card base so that the edges of the DSP and cardstock are even.
  7. Follow above process for bottom torn pieces.
  8. Embellish as desired.
